Day
1Marcus meets you (ideally in Glasgow) and with a whisky, whisks you away to the west coast, “west is best”. Take a short ferry to the wee isle of Arran (described as Scotland in miniature), visit the picturesque Lochranza Distillery before returning to the mainland, staying overnight at the very relaxed Stonefield Castle.

Day
2After breakfast head to Oban, the seafood capital of Scotland. En route you stop at Kilmartin Glen, see and touch 5,000 year old standing stones and burial cairns. Take a tour of Oban Distillery, built in 1794 before the town! For non whisky drinkers, there’s plenty to do in the pretty harbour town. Check into your hotel in an executive room with sea views.

Day
3A relaxing morning sail (45 mins) over to the Isle of Mull where you take a tour of the Tobermory Distillery non drinkers wander around this pretty wee harbour). Time for lunch in a local pub before visiting Duart Castle, built in the fourteenth century, home to the Clan Chief, of the Clan Maclean. Return to Oban, overnight as above.

Day
4Drive north via the infamous and brooding Glencoe, a great setting for a small whisky tasting. Then if you wish drop into Ben Nevis Distillery and after lunch stop at the Glenfinnan Viaduct, made famous in the Harry Potter movies. Overnight in the very peaceful Arisaig Hotel your charming waterfront accommodation for 2 nights. Sheep all around you!

Day
5Take the short crossing from Mallaig to the Isle of Skye, A full day on this stunning island with sights abound and the option of whisky distillery visits at Talisker and Torabhaig. Return via the ferry to Arisaig. Maybe have dinner in Malaig this evening but it would require a taxi. Chat to Marcus about it.

Day
6Heading east via beautiful mountain scenery you can drop into Dalwhinnie Distillery where they pair drams with chocolates. A visit to the lovely Blair Castle and gardens is recommended. Time to explore the pretty Victorian town of Pitlochry where you stay overnight in luxury accommodation.

7Distillery options today include Aberfeldy and Blair Athol (Bells) which has a bar made from an old mash tun. We can arrange a private tasting at our friends Robertsons of Pitlochry – see the photo on the right. Plenty of shopping and dining options in town, happy to recommend.

Day
8Heading south your final distillery visit is Tullibardine, French owned with interesting wine cask finishes – we really like taking our guests here, they really look after us. Then if you wish visit Doune Castle made famous by Monty Python and Outlander before Marcus drops you at your hotel in Edinburgh or Glasgow. We hope you have enjoyed this tour.
