27th April, 2025 I met with Dougie Watson, the coach driver then collected the group from the Apex Hotel in Edinburgh. Our first stop was Tullibardine Distillery where they enjoyed a tour and tasting. On the way north, we stopped in Pitlochry for a comfort break and lunch. The group split up and explored the town. Then north through rain to Dalwhinnie where the group enjoyed a tour and whisky and chocolate tasting. Some of the women who were not whisky drinkers said that they had enjoyed Dalwhinnie’s whiskies. On to Inverness where we left the group at the River Ness Hotel (Radisson).
28th April, 2025 We collected the men, the women did some shopping in Inverness and travelled to Glenfiddich where the men enjoyed their tour and tasting which took 2 hours. One of the group mentioned Glenfarclas, so we took a wee detour and visited Glenfarclas where they tasted the 10yo, the 15yo and the 105. There were several bottles of 15yo purchased! We met the women in Inverness and headed to Culloden where the group explored the exhibition. They had done their homework and were very knowledgeable about Scottish history – which certainly helped! The weather was dry and sunny, so the group had a wander over some of the battlefield. We returned to Inverness – the group ate at the Mustard Seed, whilst Dougie & I ate at the Fig & Thistle. All were happy.
29th April, 2025 We collected eight of the group and set off for Glenmorangie Distillery. Two hired a car and headed off to the Highland Wildlife Park to see the reindeer. Then north to Dornoch where they wandered around the town. Back to Inverness for the final night. The group ate at Encore and Dougie & I ate at MacGregor’s. Both recommended.
30th April, 2025 The group loved the River Ness Hotel. We headed south-west for Loch Ness, stopping at Farm Ness to take pictures of hieland coos. Every time we passed a field of hieland coos, the cry would go up, “Coos!” with fingers pointing in the correct direction. We stopped at Urquhart Castle for photos and drove on to Glencoe. The Falls of Lora were at just the right tide level as we crossed the Connel Bridge. We drove halfway up the glen, it was a beautiful morning, warm with hardly a breath of wind; a piper was playing, so that ticked boxes. We then travelled down to the village so that could see the memorial. Two of the women wandered around the town, enjoying a café or two while the rest of the group toured the distillery. We took them up to McCaig’s Folly and they loved the view out to the islands, it was a beautiful afternoon.
1st May, 2025 We stopped at St. Conan’s Kirk which they thought was amazing and headed back to the Ben Cruachan site for a comfort break. Three of the women took photos of almost all the flowers we saw on the trip. South again, stopping at Tarbet on Loch Lomond for photos, coffee and a comfort break. Then on to Edinburgh where they were to enjoy the city at leisure. A great trip… see Keith’s review on our testimonials page.
